Mindfulness & Heartfulness
Mindfulness courses in Brighton, London and internationally via Skype
Mindfulness and Heartfulness combines elements of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme with ‘Heartfulness’, also called ‘befriending’ practice, and reconciliation practice.
You will learn:
- Mindfulness techniques including body scan, sitting practice, breathing space and gentle mindful yoga
- Mindfulness practices as a way of being to support everyday living
- Developing how to stay touch with the present moment through enquiry
- Additional befriending and reconciliation practices
The course comprises six 2hr group sessions and a one day retreat. Participants are invited to develop their own practice through weekly home practice of 30-45 mins a day with audio and handouts provided to support you.
Participants often report powerful emotional understanding from learning befriending and reconciliation practices during the MBSR daylong, so this Mindfulness & Heartfulness course will offer an opportunity to extend and deepen learning. Engaging with these practices can be evocative, unfolding where we have obscurations or finding emotions difficult. Through tilting ourselves towards care we can allow feelings in a mindful, embodied way, steadying experiences of patience, acceptance and kindness. Befriending practice also helps us to allow and support beauty and sweetness in our lives.
Scientific research shows that Befriending practice has benefits including increased positive emotions and well-being, increased life satisfaction, reduced depressive symptoms, relief from illness and improving emotional intelligence.
You can sit in a chair or on the floor as you prefer.
Suitable for beginners and experienced mindfulness practitioners.
